Yesterday afternoon, I walked past the recently shuttered Catholic Center at NYU and noticed the building shrouded in dreadful netting and scaffolding. Its imminent demolition is proceeding at a moderate pace, with mind-splitting hammer clanks quite audible along Fourth Street.

that building is a real oddball. Everything around the park must be uniform. Like that fat character in The Prisoner said "You must conform! It is my sworn duty to see that you do conform!"
