Grand Vacancy

Last year, a section of one-story buildings on Grand Street between Orchard and Ludlow was decimated in quite a hurry, and a new foundation quickly poured. It seemed like an unsightly neighborhood tumor would rise by the end of 2009. At this point, however, such a feat doesn’t seem possible. A peek behind the requisite plywood confirms that the construction site of a rumored hotel at 328 Grand is dormant.
Like many other developments in the LES, just another example of the hurry-up-and-wait mentality. And wait we shall.
