Murray Hill is the archetype of sterility in Manhattan, yet the neighborhood is still a perpetual springboard for new arrivals. It’s part of the proverbial Happy Meal – graduate college, get a job, and move to the thirties on the east side. So in honor of such stereotypes, today’s dose of topical humor is a simple song currently flooding email inboxes citywide. Entitled “Ode to Murray Hill” by DJ Lubel, the quirky track is steeped in satire and tons of site-specific references. Have a listen!

Lyric of note: “I was leaving Murray Hill for an East Village loft/but my family lost its money cos of Bernie Madoff.”

Hey - how did you get that song in there? I've been looking for something like that for a long time.
