The New York Times really is in dire straights. The paper is planning to eliminate the City Section, as well as other weekly regional sections in the Long Island, Connecticut, and New Jersey editions [Observer]

The new boutique FLAnk hotel set to rise at 250 Bowery is embroiled in some foreclosure lawsuits. Not surprising, considering there has been little to no movement at the site except for a Hummer. So much for touting that whole geothermal heating thing [Curbed, Previously]
