Vane for Sebago
Yesterday afternoon, a group of street writers were busy tagging the drawn gate at 125 Rivington. Since virtually no large-scale graffiti of this sort really happens in daylight, my first guess was a new store. A store looking to capitalize on notions of "urban edge" for credibility.
According to one of the painters standing curbside, boat-shoe company Sebago is opening a pop-up shop at the site to promote its latest collection - a collaboration with New York City-based design collective Vane. The temporary store will run between March 27 and April 20.

"Originally a graffiti crew founded in Staten Island around 1996, 1134nyc is currently an urban art company based in Brooklyn. Comprising collective of artists and designers including MINT, SERF, GOAL and HEILS."
I love this. Actual NYers trying to make some money, but they can't get past the blogger authenticity police! Which suburb were you born in, Ken Mac?
