Isabella's Inside
Onetime Isabella's Oven

In the two months since Isabella’s Oven shuttered with its interior in shambles, the gates have been drawn; the neon marquee dark. It seemed as though no activity was happening behind this veil of metal. But apparently we were wrong. Pasted beneath the freshly-plucked store signage of the former Grand Street pizzeria is a new for rent sign. And inside? Well, let’s just say everything looks pretty spic-and-span.

This baby is back on the market. Time will tell whether the future tenant jives with the Seward Park co-op board, though.

It is a great location with lots of foot traffic and bustling neighbors (Donut Plant, Roots and Vines and Kosars Bagels to name but three). Someone with the right business should do well. Not another pizza place - there are already numerous choices when it comes to pizza... Isabella's was flawed from the start.

Indeed. One of those, "only in NY" type deals. Anxious to see what will open there...if anything.
