Musical Chairs Along Bowery
In the cutthroat business climate along the Bowery, some of the remaining supply and lighting businesses are in a frantic game of musical chairs. Especially since the availability of affordable real estate in this now-trendy neighborhood diminishes by day. Those fortunate enough to remain afloat, move, while others simply vanish.
Last month, 200 Supply Corp. was forced off the Bowery to Elizabeth Street. More recently, the Awning-Sign-Neon joint adjacent to Bowery Ballroom is moving to 171 Bowery, courtesy of lease expiration.
