Trendy Boutique Coming to 38 Orchard
Since the storefront of 38 Orchard Street was boarded up over four months ago, the worksite has been fairly quiet. It seemed like just another stalled project behind a lonely sidewalk shed littered with ads. Not the case, though. Over the weekend, as if on cue with the gorgeous summer weather, the plywood was temporarily removed, revealing a fresh glass facade.
As if the neighborhood didn't have enough upscale shopping already, another trendy boutique called 8B will soon occupy the space. According to a talkative contractor on-site, the store will only carry menswear, and should be open in about a month. He attributed the delayed opening to "structural issues" that needed to be resolved. Whatever that means.
An employee at its sister shop on Division Street, Project No. 8, also confirmed the opening date.
