Bowery Boogie | A Lower East Side Chronicle

The Washington Mutual on Delancey is sending mixed signals with its malfuctioning exterior signage. So much so, that if not for the inner lighting, the branch would appear closed. And depending on the night, either the full word “Washington” or all the letters in the sequence are completely dark. The problem has persisted for weeks, and there doesn’t seem to be a method to the madness.

This retail branch is doomed, methinks. Especially since there is a Chase Bank directly across the way at the corner of Essex Street.
