Globe Slicers - New Signage

Located at 266 Bowery, Culinary Secrets, Inc. (commonly known as Globe Slicers) is a family-owned commercial restaurant and kitchen supply company that has been in business since 1947. Nearly every morning, a group of workers stands outside the cramped storefront, repairing and servicing various pieces of equipment. Regardless of the season or weather conditions, the wood tables are usually splayed out with umbrellas open, a tinny boombox broadcasting cool tunes.

Perhaps heeding the influx of rampant gentrification in the neighborhood, the 62-year-old shop recently updated its signage with a more modern vibe.

I noticed this and thought I was just imagining things. The sign looks different, but not exactly new, which I thought was odd.

The two guys who used to repair slicers under the red awning to the south haven't been there in weeks, which had me worried. I hope the new signage is an indication of prosperity.
