With the requisite "for rent" signs taped firmly in place, the party is over for Lounge 87 on Ludlow Street. Last night during happy hour, the main gate was half-way drawn, voices emanating from within. We peeked inside and saw a few gentlemen casually seated on bar stools, chatting away in the dreary darkness.


According to one man, the bar is temporarily closed due to bad business, but might re-emerge under new management. Might being the operative word here. Indeed, these days "for rent" signs rarely lie.
