Fire in Delancey Popeye’s

We received a picture in our inbox this morning with the following intel regarding a fire in the Delancey Popeye’s yesterday.
there was smoke coming from the 2nd floor. apparently a couple was living on the second floor and a fireman came down and released a white dog covered in soot, he scrambled towards his concerned owners and peed on the sidewalk in utter fear.3 trucks were parked on delancey proper another 2 arrived around 7:30pm.
i can only SPECULATE the fire originated from the popeyes (grease fire
in back kitchen?). the workers looked anxious and locked themselves
inside the restaurant (fear of looters going after their delectable
and coveted cajun chicken?). if you were inside a burning building
wouldn’t you want to be outside? also, why didnt the fire fighters
evacuate the building?
This specific location is quite unique, thanks to the Chinese lettering above the store awning.
