Over the weekend, we received intel that the LES Visitors Center recently moved to yet another space in the neighborhood. Current administrative offices are now headquartered in the ground level of 54 Orchard Street, otherwise known as the luxury rental development “The Z Building.” It is the third location in as many years for the non-profit organization, having previously occupied 261 Broome Street (now an art gallery) and 72 Orchard Street.
Here is the official mission statement according to the LESBID website:
The Lower East Side Business Improvement District was established in 1992 as a nonprofit economic development organization dedicated to revitalizing the Orchard Street Shopping District while preserving its unique and diverse character.
