Shop, Gated

After nigh on a year at 94 Orchard Street, the aptly named women’s boutique, Shop, is finished. Despite the deep spring clearance sales all weekend, the store abruptly shuttered after business hours on Sunday night. There were no outward signs or warnings of its impending doom. Needless to say, it was a somber scene, with three employees moving out the furniture and packing up the remaining garments.

At 24 Stories, You Can Now See Extell’s LES Tower from Delancey Street

At approximately 24 stories, Extell’s luxury behemoth, One Manhattan Square, is the tallest in the immediate vicinity. Trumping Rutgers Houses, Two Bridges Tower, and the Manhattan Bridge roadbed. February 2012) and Stanton Kitchen […]

Languishing on the Market, Another Brokerage Tries to Pitch Retail at the Bowery ‘Bunker’

Here we are again. A year-and-a-half after the Green Depot vacated 222 Bowery, the former environmentally-concious hardware store remains a decrepit dormancy. Just look inside. There is now a collection of toilet bowls, random bags of concrete, and other construction sundries. But nothing is happening. Except that a new brokerage is trying again to sell […]
