Give Us Bread is the latest play by The Anthropologists, an award-winning artist troupe dedicated to the creation of socially-relevant theatrical work. The production begins its opening run tonight at 7:30 at the Milagro Theater in the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center.

Give Us Bread, a fresh, humorous and moving play by The Anthropologists featuring devised and historic text, kicks-off this Friday June 5th with a Gala Event to benefit the NYC Coalition Against Hunger.Give Us Bread Performance Schedule: June 5 – 21, 2009

Sunday @ 3:00PMFriday June 5th also marks the start of The Food Riot Project, “Where Art Meets Action,” an innovative series of cultural programming featuring Talk-backs, Workshops and Tastings,
delving into topics such as current and historical Food Security, Immigration, Jewish History and poverty. The Food Riot Project features keynote speakers and facilitators such as Deputy Borough President Rose Pierre-Louis, Laurie Tobias Cohen of the Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy, Ai Hirashiki of The Action Center to End World Hunger, and renowned authors Raj Patel (Stuffed and Starved), Elaine Weiss (Fruits of Victory) and Joel Berg (All You Can Eat)
