MPDRAW Naked at 109 Ludlow

109 Ludlow

Back in late January, Suba was sold to the owners of nearby gastropub Spitzer’s Corner.  At the time, Grub St reported that the new spot would eventually become a trendy taqueria called MPDRAW, and that management hoped for a March opening.  Obviously that never happened; typical.  A sidewalk shed was erected a short time later, but save for the obligatory spring cleaning, 109 Ludlow remained rather quiet.

109 Base Trim

No longer.  Yesterday we noticed that the plywood is gone for good, revealing a naked wooden framework with a base trim of metal craftwork.  Through a tiny sliver in the papered windows, we could see that the eatery still has a bit of work left in the pipeline.

If this place is planning on getting a liquor liscense they can forget it. They are going to face a brick wall of opposition.

I gotta say, I think it looks great. Actually keeps with the historic look of the hood, for a change.
