Step Up to Washington Square Park

After a week of filming in the Lower East Side, Step Up 3D is back in Greenwich Village. All day yesterday, Washington Square Park was co-opted for the latest Disney set. And an elaborate one at that – a giant cherry picker sat near the fountain with a white screen dangling from its crows nest; flamboyant balloons and umbrellas were positioned at various points; and, of course, there were plenty of trip-worthy cables lining all the walkways. The whole area felt like a circus.

On a legal note, though, if you were in the area during the actual shoot, Step Up now owns your likeness and voice in perpetuity. How comforting.
