Cinema Nolita For Rent

In an update to our post last week regarding Cinema Nolita, we now learn from a tipster that the video store will have a short reprieve.  The reader wrote in to say:

“Just stopped by the store and they’d taken down the signs. Looks like they’ve got a couple weeks reprieve, but it sounds like they’ll still be closing by the end of the month. It sounds like it may be possible to keep their collection together, though, and perhaps reopen somewhere else? The staff is supposedly meeting tonight to talk about options.”

We wish the staff best of luck, and hope they can find another location in the neighborhood.

Cinema Nolita is still (barely) alive. They have two more weeks to raise some cash to keep this valuable neighborhood cultural resource alive. Let's face it - with the death of Evergreen Video and Kim's, there is no place like this left in downtown nyc...a sin and a shame. Only a grass roots movement can keep this place alive. Please drop by the store and see how you can help.
