Inside Pulino’s Bar and Pizzeria

Keith McNally made news last week when he announced that Nate Appleman would be chef and partner at the new Pulino’s Bar and Pizzeria at the corner of Bowery and Houston. Meanwhile, anticipation remains high for an eatery which is still months from launch. And street-level surveillance proves the snail-paced progress. Yesterday we peeked inside to see an interior slowly taking shape. Peering through the mess of scaffolding, wooden planks, trash cans, and wheelbarrows, a fancy-schmancy brickwork installation is now visible toward the back.
But this construction pace was to be expected. After all, McNally admitted in his own words that “unfortunately, I build slowly and expensively.” Projected opening is sometime in December.
