How to Make it in America on Bowery

Fellow LESers, get ready to puke.  Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson, the folks behind the glitzy rag-of-a-show Entourage, are set to invade the Bowery today to film How to Make it in America.  With a rather tired plotline – a group of twenty-somethings hustle into NYC to achieve the American Dream, yada yada – the production is sure to cause problems in and around the neighborhood.

The people who complain about film crews "invading" "their" neighborhoods are the same people who gentrified the neighborhoods in the first place. Sorry, haters.

What's ironic is that the show is probably about characters who would have the same "hater" attitudes. "A group of twenty-somethings hustle into NYC to achieve the American Dream." So by complaining about the filming, isn't it actually helping the writers with their characters? Don't bite the hand that feeds! Without actual gentrification you wouldn't be working on the show. Now stop this Jibba Jabba!

Wow your comment sounds just like the one BC Haley posted on another post about the same show. Tell Marky Mark hi since you're probably a $4/hour PA for the show. ;)

Actually, it's $17/hour, Sucker. And, what? If I made $4/hour I don't have a right to make a comment? Nice and classist of you, LES gentrification bitch!

Wah! The entertainment industry wants to bring business and jobs to our city and it might inconvenience the lives of a couple of LES dimwits. WAH!

Good Lord...if this is all you have to post about, you should re-consider the importance of your blog at all.
