Little Steven Van Zandt of the East Street Band reportedly has his sights on SPURA.  According to The Villager, the musician “was interested in creating a ‘recording-studio complex’ at the location [old Essex Market buildings below Delancey], but then the stock market crashed, and everything got put on hold.”  Bring the music back! The former Bounce Deuce on Second Avenue will remain a sports establishment.  Well, not quite.  The new tenant is Queens-based Pita Pan.  Quite an odd combination.  Will it blend? [EV Grieve]

Crediting bloggers for stories is apparently not a policy at the NY Post.  The rag pilfers and “amplifies” the story.  Miss Heather elicited this response, “I won’t discuss at length the policy of not crediting blogs (or anyone else).
