James Coviello Opening Shop at 70 Orchard

B_ _T_Q_ _: Buy a vowel because yet another one is coming to Orchard Street.  That’s right, it looks like a James Coviello shop will be opening at 70 Orchard, in line with Wendy Mink Jewelery and By Robert James.  According to the sign out front, launch should be sometime this month.  His Facebook page confirms more of the details:

“We did not show during this Fashion Week as we have focused our efforts on an exciting project — We are opening a new store in New York City’s Lower East Side (on Orchard Street, between Grand & Broome). We expect the store to open this October. We will resume fashion shows at next Fashion Week.”

Given the influx of such high-fashion boutiques in the neighborhood, it’s no wonder Guss’ Pickles (across the street) had to pack up and leave.
