The Boss at Max’s Kansas City, Washington Square Park tombstone, and the Stuy Town lease freeze, all in today’s neighborhood news!

A tombstone was unearthed during construction for Phase II of the Washington Square Park redesign.  There is still much uncertainty regarding the artifact.  Some believe that it might belong to the original land owner dating back at least 200 years.  Fascinating and creepy, especially before Halloween [WSP Blog]

Some good news to report – Theatre 80 on St. Marks Place will be showing film again.  They are apparently installing high definition digital projectors.  Yet the focus will remain on live performance [EV Grieve]

There is now reportedly a lease freeze at Stuy Town, with the First Avenue office not taking any new business.  Lux Living confirms that a waitlist is in place again at the complex [Lux Living]
