Rush Hour Juggler, Redux

The Rush Hour Juggler is back!  Early yesterday morning, we spotted the street performer juggling a traffic cone and some wine bottles while standing in the median just above the intersection of Houston and Second Avenue.  After each round, the man darted into traffic to collect tips from cabbies waiting at the light; he also approached some suits on their way to work.

According to Flying Flashlight, the man’s name is Richard:

Richard told me he came from 71st Street. I don’t know the significance of this. He said he was trying to return to Los Angeles. Unprompted, he explained to me the difference between rich old performers and poor old performers: The rich ones had good agents.

  • He is quite good. I did see him break the 40oz bottle he was juggling the other day, though. At least he cleaned it up. Had he been here going to a bar, he would have left the glass for someone else to deal with...
  • Yeah. Haven't seen him drop anything yet. I was quite surprised at the number of cabbies who tipped him. He's good at what he does.
