Double Crown Anniversary

This past Sunday was the one-year anniversary of trendy nightspot Double Crown, once home to Manahatta.  Longtime reader REC was there and filed the following report of the evening:

Last Sunday Double Crown was the best place (and perhaps the only place) to be for post-Halloween revelry.  Celebrating its one year anniversary, Double Crown went all out with fun nibbles and a seemingly never ending supply of Champagne with a few hundred of its closest friends including Julia Stiles (front and center in above pic) and Chuck Close. An Indo-Asian inspired show followed by a dragon parade to the beat of Taiko-esque drums  took the party to Double Crown’s sister restaurant, Public, on Elizabeth Street, for Part Deux.  A little over the top, but in a good way.
