Flock of Pigeons Escapes Bloodbath

A discarded sandwich in the eastbound intersection of Essex and Delancey nearly spelled disaster for a flock of pigeons.  The birds literally escaped a bloodbath by mere inches.  But the moment traffic was stopped at the red light again, they were back on the road, fighting for the prize.
