Pitt Station Post Office Staying Open

According to Cityroom, the struggling United States Postal Service has cut down their list of post offices to be closed in NYC. Out of the original fourteen, nine are staying open. On the list of saved P.O’s is the Pitt Station Post Office on Clinton Street, which generated plenty of conflict because of its position in a NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) where 50% of residents are 60 and older. A USPS spokesperson said that community activism and rallies probably played a key role in the decision.  Great news indeed!
