In today’s Art & Design section of the Times, Ken Johnson argues that the Lower East Side gallery scene is nothing like that of Chelsea.  That it’s more akin to the SoHo before Chelsea hit it big.  “Galleries falling in between exhibit mostly young and emerging artists, which means that you see much that is only marginally better than graduate student work.” [New York Times]
