Tiptoeing Atop Karl Fischer’s 263 Bowery

The other day, a worker at Karl Fischer’s 263 Bowery was busy tiptoeing with a rope and pulley mechanism atop the cinder-block summit. Yet without a harness of any kind!  We are by no means experts on construction site safety, but this just seems rather foolish.

And a few doors down, at 257 Bowery, the future Sperone Westwater Gallery is finally rearing its head from beneath the plywood.  A few levels are now visible, as is the ongoing installation of what appears to be steel grating to protect the adjacent buildings.
