Rats Come Alive on Orchard Street

There is a fairly nondescript trash bin at the northeast corner of Orchard and Grand Streets which comes alive every night. Without fail. Being a quiet spot with tons of leftovers, neighborhood rats long ago marked this territory as a valuable refueling station.
Just walk past late in the evening, you will undoubtedly hear the rodents squeak and rustle through the day’s garbage. Nothing out of the ordinary here on the Lower East Side.
