Spitzer’s Corner is Closed Until Friday

Spitzer’s Corner will be closed through Thursday for unknown reasons.  However, last night, a man on a ladder was fixing some lighting, so perhaps it’s for routine maintenance.

Pasted in the windows are signs that say “Re-open this Friday. See you then.”  But that’s not all!  In the entrance to the “gastropub” is a more conclusive letter to customers:

Dear Friends,

Spitzer’s Corner will be closed from Sunday 2/7 to Thursday 2/11.  We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to serving you starting at noon on Friday 2/12.  Please don’t forget to bring your valid government-issued ID.

This bar has a checkered history with regard to underage drinking, which probably explains the addition of the last line.

UPDATE: Eater reports that Spitzer’s was in fact forced to shut down due to underage drinking…again!
