Grand Street Fire Fundraiser

It’s really great to see the community come together amidst tragedy. We just received information that there is a fundraiser week currently planned to benefit the victims of the Grand Street fire. From May 17 – 21, a handful of Lower East Side restaurants will be graciously donating partial profits from sales.
Per the press release:
The downtown community invite you to participate in a benefit for the victims of the Grand Street fire last month on Sunday, April 11, 2010.
A week of events and promotions begin and end with a Spring Clean sponsored by Hester Street Fair in collaboration with Seward Park Co-op.
Sunday, May 16 from 10am-6pm- Hester Street Fair Spring Clean Drop-off (accepting new and gently used items to be sold)- Hester Street at Essex Street.
During the week of May 17-21, participating downtown restaurants will be donating partial profits from the week’s sales.

- Barrio Chino- 253 Broome Street
- Café El Portal- 174 Elizabeth Street
- La Esquina- 106 Kenmare Street **if they reopen**
- Lovely Day- 196 Elizabeth Street
Sunday, May 23 from 10am-6pm- Hester Street Fair Spring Clean Sale Event- Hester Street at Essex Street.
