115 Norfolk Street Sans Scaffolding

Now five years in the making, the saga of 115 Norfolk Street is finally reaching its conclusion.  Plans for the shiny new condoplex first surfaced in September 2005, but the project was reportedly abandoned shortly thereafter. Then, in 2008, the 25,000 square-foot property sold for $10 million, and has since continued along its current course.  “Son of THOR, as Curbed nicknames it, is designed by the same architects behind the Hotel on Rivington – Grzywinski + Pons Architects.

Yesterday morning, a tipster alerted us to the recent onsite activity, including the removal of the scaffolding and its network of netting. With an unfettered view, the seven-story building somewhat resembles the boxy-glass look of THOR, and boasts an angular open-top atrium.

But will this extravagant development, which was conceived and hotly anticipated during the boom, have trouble selling?
