BLVD Re-branded as Soiree

At last month’s community meeting with owners of the forthcoming tapas joint at 245 Bowery, representatives from BLVD were deployed to secure the S.R.O. namesake for their own re-branding effort. Well, the issue is now a moot point, as the nightclub apparently settled for a different name.  Meanwhile, the BLVD flags remains in place.

Rather than S.R.O., it appears Crash Mansion instead chose Soirée for its trendier ground-level nightspot at 199 Bowery. This now leaves the coveted, albeit disrespectful, name free for the taking. Have at it.

I guess they got the message that using the name SRO trades on the poverty and hard times of someone else and isn't all that hip.
Using the name for a bar should go the way of the "Mission" a bar two doors from the Bowery Mission (where poor people get clear of alcohol addiction), closed after a murder...
