City Parks Foundation Announces East River Park SummerStage

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of SummerStage, the City Parks Foundation just announced a series of events at sixteen different parks across the Five Boroughs.  One of the city venues earmarked for the celebration is the East River Park, which will host thirteen arts programs and herald in a brand-spankin’-new bike valet initiative.

For the 25th anniversary of SummerStage, City Parks Foundation has recently announced that the SummerStage brand will extend beyond Central Park to include over 100 music, dance and theater programs in all five boroughs. As part of the expansion, City Parks Foundation encourages New Yorkers and visitors alike to explore the many parks, both in and outside Manhattan, that help make New York such a vibrant city and discover performances that are as culturally diverse as the neighborhoods themselves.

This anniversary season, SummerStage will offer programs in 16 parks city-wide, all of which are accessible via public transportation. For the first time ever, City Parks Foundation, organizer of both SummerStage and Catalyst: Reclaiming the Waterfront in East River Park Program — which seeks innovative methods to revitalize waterfront neighborhoods – are proud to partner with Transportation Alternatives to offer FREE bike valet parking at all 13 of the SummerStage in East River Park events as an incentive to have people utilize alternative means of transportation and to promote the usage of green spaces in the Lower East Side.
