This Week’s Shepard Fairey Mural Update

What a difference little more than a week can make in the life of the Shepard Fairey mural at the corner of Bowery and East Houston. Nearly all of the lower-level paneling has been torn away, uncovering a larger swath of the Os Gemeos artwork currently behind bars. The street has spoken. Where is the security detail now?

In the meantime, remnants of the torn canvas are strewn across the gravel.  Pick up a memento while you still can.

Grieve has more on the mutilated mural today, too.

I overheard Billy Leroy say that he chased off a few people helping themselves to a piece of the mural the other day…. curious how long the whole things is removed.
