Well, wouldn’t you know it – the two neighborhood yarn bikes mated in the back of the yarn car and birthed a baby. Their offspring now sits in the intersection of Bowery and Delancey. Of course, this particular crocheted children’s bicycle was placed in the traffic median by Olek, whose work has captured the minds of the neighborhood.

The Polish-born artist is currently amidst an exhibition at the Christopher Henry Gallery just a block away, and placement of this yarn bike is no doubt some additional promotion. The show, entitled “Knitting is for Pus****,” is in its last week, and will conclude this Sunday (10/17).
