RIP Levi’s Billboard of Gears
Levi’s finally decided to scrap its billboard undertaking above the corner of East Houston and Lafayette. The billboard was more a headache than anything else. Shortly after its July 2010 unveiling, the ambitious advert began a lengthy problem streak. Which is just a handy euphemism for “the thing was friggin’ busted.”

The complex collection of interlocking cogs was operational for a couple months, then shit the bed. And it never really recovered. A tuneup in November definitely helped, but that was only a short term band-aid.
Oh well. T-Mobile is now the latest company leasing the high-profile ad space. It’s actually some clever copy, too. “Faster than new parents moving to Park Slope.”
