Kenny Scharf Mural Attacked Twice this Week

The month-long grace period at the graffiti wall has drawn to a close.  Pun intended.  Sometime Monday evening, the Kenny Scharf mural gracing the corner of Bowery and East Houston was bombed in a major way.  And it appears to be some of the same crew that hit the space back in December.  So much for the new surveillance cameras.

This latest addition is actually the second graffiti attack this week.  Over the weekend, a few other street writers tagged up the mural, but their work was quickly covered.  Now the multi-million dollar question is whether Scharf will return to restore his masterpiece.

he should keep repairing it as long as he has the paint and the time. it keeps looking better the more he re-touches and repairs it.
