Wyndham Garden Hotel Receives AC Units

In the mild Saturday morning sun, a crane crew was quite busy on Hester Street between Bowery and Chrystie.  A pair of six-ton air conditioning units was delivered on a trailer.  The so-called “chillers” were destined for the summit of the nearly-complete Wyndham Garden Hotel at 93 Bowery.

The sight of an elongated, fifteen-story crane was enough to draw the gaze of many a sidewalk gawker.  But once the master rigger proclaimed that the “chicken was ready,” the entire space cleared out.

Then the real work began.  Hester, we have liftoff!

With plenty of rubbernecking from bench dwellers at the Hester Street Playground…

Representatives from the Wyndham Garden Hotel will appear before Community Board 3 tonight to fight for some liquor license action.
