Annie Havlicek Quits Boutique at 154 Orchard Street
Trendy boutique turnover continues in the neighborhood with the closure of year-old pop-up-cum-flagship Annie Havlicek at 154 Orchard Street. Now both first-floor stores are completely vacant (Victoria’s Hair Secret vacated the premises last month), survived only by Rhong Tiam and David Owens Vintage on the lower level. This latest departure is further evidence that shelf life for upscale retail shops is nigh on two years.

Last Friday afternoon, store employees were spotted boxing the leftover threads and dismantling store furnishings. By the end of the weekend, the space was a ghost of its former self with a large leasing sign in the window. The branded arrowed plaques which point customers in the proper direction remain affixed to the metal railings.
