Resident Now Suing Gap Over Lower East Side Trademark
The underdog crusade against behemoth clothing companies continues. Just over a month after filing suit against Aeropostale for infringing on his trademark, Clinton Street resident Robert Lopez is again on the offensive regarding his coveted L.E.S. Clothing Co. brand. Court documents filed yesterday indicate that Gap, Inc. and its Old Navy subsidiary are now in the line of fire for supposedly selling t-shirts with the Lower East Side moniker.

Much like the previous two cases, Lopez is suing for all profits received exploiting “Lower East Side” and punitive damages. It’s the third time in as many months that the neighborhood resident is attacking a Goliath. Below is the legal paperwork.
