Coming Soon: Massage Parlor at 193 Orchard

Quite amazing how one particular property can sit vacant for two consecutive years without any love. Such was the fate that befell 193 Orchard Street after vintage purveyor Apollo Braun ditched the Lower East Side in January 2009. After all, the immediate vicinity was pretty much a dead zone, with virtually nothing happening on premises except a fading “for rent” sign.  Yet earlier this year, workers began operating in the basement, and clearing out storefront sundries. Last week the new tenant was officially announced, and this one is rather unexpected.

It is here at 193 Orchard that a new multipurpose massage parlor will soon make its mark. The teaser banner was draped across the ground-level marquee last week, promising prospective patrons back and foot rubs, body work, and Tuina.  Happy endings included?

Meanwhile, this new spa joins another like-minded operation, Best Qi Gong, located just across the street at 190.
