The scene at the corner of Ludlow and Stanton Street last night was a complete media circus. As we reported yesterday, a woman was found murdered inside 101 Stanton Street. It was speculated at the time that an estranged ex-husband returned and did the dirty work. But that’s not entirely true.

Contrary to the initial reports, the 49-year-old victim, a home aid by trade, was reported missing for a few days, prompting the authorities to knock on the boyfriend’s door at 101 Stanton Street. Cops discovered the lifeless body of Felicia Cruz, gruesomely wrapped in plastic. The frenzy last night was much ado about the dead body on the gurney. Medical examiners were at the scene, and didn’t remove the victim until close to 7 pm. Press-hungry photographers were champing at the bit for the shot.

According to the Daily News, investigators are still questioning the 59-year-old boyfriend, who Cruz had only been dating for five months.

As a post-script, one photographer was nearly mauled by a visibly-hearbroken family member as she was walking to her car. The press member snapped a shot, which prompted a mad dash and plenty of F-bombs. No one was hurt.
