“Three Way Street” Highlights Danger of City Intersections [Video]

The complex, and often deadly game of Frogger that unfolds at nearly every Manhattan intersection is the subject of a fascinating new short by Ron Gabriel. Dubbed “Three Way Street,” we witness the inherent danger of navigating the city streets whether riding bikes, behind the wheel, or walking. Its focus is on one particular midtown junction.

Each potential accident or dangerous violation is highlighted by a series of shapes. Near collisions are further illustrated with a blinking red. The cynic dwelling within us finds some of the scenarios quite funny to watch, like the “aggressive yield” or the eighteen-wheeled tractor-trailer u-turn.
