il Laboratorio del Gelato Reopening at 95 Orchard This Weekend

Last week, we broke news that il Laboratorio del Gelato was returning to its old stomping grounds at 95 Orchard Street.  As workers continue to ready the interior for the imminent homecoming, a pair of signs pasted in the windows announce a reopening date of this weekend.

It reads:

Reopening…the weekend of July 9. Until then, please join us at our new much larger facility just a few blocks north, at the corner of Ludlow and Houston.  With seating! A full coffee bar. 48 flavors.

Regardless of the reasoning behind this backassward move, the return of gelato to Orchard Street will become a boon to other business on the block.  And create more lines.
