Evacuation Zones for Hurricane on the Lower East Side
A state of emergency has been declared in New York thanks to that bitch-of-a-storm, Irene. While much of the northeast is on edge, it doesn’t seem like the average Joe/Jane in this town really cares. Last night, we stocked up on some provisions, fully expecting that there would be lines and nothing left in corner bodegas and Duane Reades. Not the case. Anyhoo, below is a snapshot of evacuation zones in the East Village and Lower East Side. Orange being Zone A (most at risk), yellow as Zone B, and green as Zone C.
Watch out, Alphabet City, Irene has the hots for ya. Seward Park High School and Baruch College are the closest evacuation centers. How are you preparing for the onslaught of Irene?
