“Blue Bloods” Filming on the Lower East Side Today

The marathon fall television season is nearly upon us, so expect plenty of filming from the major networks in the coming months.  Not much of a change from the summertime wrought with neighborhood shoots.  Here’s another to consider this misty morning – Blue Bloods is returning for more.

The CBS procedural police drama is no stranger to the Lower East Side, having filmed at various locations earlier this year.  Later today, though, production will commence in that little square space of real estate local blogs refer to as Hell Square.  “No parking signs” and other official announcements line the streets (Allen-Essex, East Houston-Rivington), as do plenty of orange traffic cones.  Judging by the sheer outreach, which actually began last weekend, it’ll be a busy day here in the neighborhood.

The hours between 9 and 12 am have been set aside for the filming.
