UFO Sighting Above the Freedom Tower Last Week

Posted on: September 29th, 2011 at 6:28 am by

Up there…it’s a bird…it’s a plane…it’s definitely not Superman! A photographer claims that an alien spacecraft was recently interested in progress at the new Freedom Tower 1 WTC currently under construction. Last Saturday, this unnamed shutterbug snapped shots from the rooftop observation deck of the New Museum and claims to have captured a diamond-shaped UFO in the skies above Lower Manhattan. He noticed the alleged aircraft in four frames of the set.

Examiner has more:

“On closer inspection I noticed what appeared to be regular markings and windows on the craft,” the witness stated. “It had to be moving at an incredible rate of speed for it to have moved as far as it did give the frame rate it was captured at. It seems to be faintly emitting both blue and red light from the openings on its back area.”

The photographer is looking for additional opinions on what the object might be. The MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) report was filed on September 23, 2011. The event occurred on September 17, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

As Ghost Theory noted, Manhattan is at Alert Level 3 for UFO activity with 46 alleged sightings in August alone.  Do you think this latest sighting is an elaborate hoax or clever photoshop trickery? Skeptics and cynics, have at it in the comments.

Talking CBGB, Punk, and Warhol with Photographer Bobby Grossman [INTERVIEW]

Most of my friends know that I’m a New York City history freak. I’ll probably annoy you when I walk down the street telling you the history of some random tenement on the corner of some random street in the LES. Lately, though, I’ve found myself reading numerous books on the 60s/70s/80s NYC music scene, […]

It’s a Geiko advertisment you morons! This plan flies around the harbor everyday pulling this ad. Look at the geko on the bottom left side. Duh!

  • Ologanoll

I looked up images of Geico banners and can’t find one with the lizard in the lower left.  Does look like a banner though

Seriously, you don’t have to be inspector Columbo to plainly see that it is in fact a banner being pulled behind a building. You can even see it curl at the edges.
Anyone who thinks this is some kind of alien craft really needs to get out more and have a word with themselves!

I am a Strong UFO believer but this does look like an airplane ad being pulled through the air! Sorry UFOERS!

I enlarged the image and immediately detected altered pixels.

PS  It was supposed to be in Manhattan, and only ONE person saw it? Why didn’t he capture it on video with his phone? Also, ALWAYS be suspicious when a witness or photographer won’t give his/her name.

I think it is a drone orbiter. An unmanned craft that monitors something like pollution or frequencies… I have heard of a them crashing and being recovered by the military on UFO TV.

I have had close encounters with elongated diamond UFOs. The first time I saw one it was so close that I could have thrown a stone and hit it.

It sat in the sky for some time..but it soon had what was like  a beam of white light come out of it. After other circumstances occurred, I found myself watching the craft slowly start to move..then it shot off and up in an instant. There was not gaining speed..It traveled many miles up,  perhaps..at minimum 25 miles in 1/10th of a second.

I cannot vouch for this image, but I have seen a craft..2 times..at close proximity that were that shape.

I have had close encounters and abductions through the years. Just search Taken By The Greys to read and hear about all of them.
