NYPD Helicopter Circles Clinton Street [Updated]

Posted on: October 9th, 2011 at 9:01 am by

Who needs an alarm clock when we’ve got the NYPD chopper unit for a wake-up call?  Earlier this morning we heard plenty of buzzing from the sky, and one reader provides some input:

8AM helicopter police action over Clinton between Rivington and Stanton. No idea why except to wake up the neighborhood. Helicopter circled the area then hovered over the [Straus] playground for 5 mins. Good Morning!

UPDATE: It’s an investigation into an alleged sexual assault. No one is in custody yet.

If you have more information on the operation, definitely give us a shout!
